QUALIFICATIONS

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a Filipino citizen.
  • The applicant or any of his or her relatives by consanguinity up to a second degree or relative by affinity up to a first degree must be a Cebuana Lhuillier client.
  • Must have a Cebuana Lhuillier Microsavings account (where grants will be credited).
  • An incoming or currently enrolled college student at a public university or college in any of the following programs only:
    • Accountancy or Finance Management courses
    • Business courses
    • Hotel & Restaurant Management and Hospitality Management courses
    • Engineering courses (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, and Industrial)
    • Architecture
    • Psychology
    • Social Work
  • Should have a total annual family income not exceeding PHP 350,000 (Submit Income Tax Return (ITR), Company Payslip or Certificate of BIR Tax Exemption or Certification of Non-Filing of Income).
  • Must have a general weighted average (GWA) of 85% or its equivalent from the last semester or school attended.

Q1: Is the scholarship open for elementary and high school education?

NO. The CLFI Scholarship Program provides grants for college education from 1st to 4th year for economically challenged students nationwide.

Q2: What are the qualifications for admission to the CLFI scholarship?

To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Cebuana Lhuillier client with 24K Loyalty Card
  • Proof/s of total family income
  • General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% or its equivalent from the last semester/school attended, without a failing mark in any subject
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character duly signed by an official in the last school attended
  • Current enrollment or registration form (First Semester SY 2024-2025)
  • University/college’s grading system in percentages

Q3: Can I apply if I am currently or intend to be enrolled in a private university?

No. Applicants are required to apply to or be currently enrolled in any public state university or college that offers courses supported by the scholarship program mentioned above.

Q4: What's the next step after the submission of my application?

Upon receiving the submitted applications, CLFI will meticulously review all applications through a comprehensive paper screening process, involving various departments within the PJ Group of Companies. Subsequently, successful applicants will be promptly notified to attend an interview session accompanied by their parents or guardians. The official results will be announced on or before the last week of July 2024.

Q5: How much stipend does CLFI provide?

CLFI provides a fixed stipend of up to Php 50,000, intended to subsidize essential school-related and living expenses.

Q7: Does the CLFI offer employment opportunities for scholars upon graduation?

Yes, CLFI offers employment opportunities for scholars upon graduation through its Education to Employment (E2E) provision. This initiative allows scholars to secure employment immediately after completing their studies. Additionally, PJLI grants exemptions on the PJLI pre-employment test to scholars who graduate with Latin honors or achieve a general weighted average of 90% or equivalent. For other scholars, the standard employment process will apply.

Q8: Can I appeal the result of the application process?

No, once the scholarship committee has finalized the application results, the decision is deemed final and irrevocable. However, as the application process is open annually, you are welcome to reapply in subsequent years.
