The impact of Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation’s (CLFI) efforts in supporting the Alternative Learning System program has not gone unnoticed. Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte commended CLFI during the recently concluded DepEd Partners’ Appreciation and Recognition for its ALS initiatives, emphasizing the importance of such programs in empowering underserved communities, and promoting lifelong learning.
Secretary Duterte appreciated CLFI’s commitment to quality and accessible education. CLFI was recognized for partnering with over 155 learning centers nationwide, that support alternative education.
The event convened last February 20 at the GSIS Theater in Pasay City, served as a platform to acknowledge the significant contributions of DepEd partners in advancing educational goals. It was attended by 173 key stakeholders, including government officials, educators, and representatives from partner organizations.
Institutional Programs Head Caesar “Levis” Navarro received the award on behalf of CLFI.
CLFI’s educational initiatives encompass the ALS Teachers’ and Learners’ Summit, Brigada Eskwela support, the National ALS Teachers Awards (NALSTAR), and collaboration with the Literacy Coordinating Council for the National Literacy Awards since 2013.
Furthermore, CLFI is currently engaged in discussions with the DepEd regarding the acknowledgment of higher education institutions and LGUs for their efforts in advancing innovative financial literacy programs, epitomized by the Vice President Sara Duterte Awards for Financial Literacy.
As CLFI persists in its endeavor to foster inclusive education, its endeavors on Pag-Asa Island serve as a symbol of optimism, illustrating the profound impact of education even in the most formidable circumstances. With resolute dedication and unyielding backing, CLFI steadfastly upholds its pledge to forge a brighter future for all through inclusive education.
