Mariano Peralta National High School takes great pride in hosting the Alternative Learning System (ALS) resource center in Malita, Davao Occidental.
The Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation has been a strong supporter of the Department of Education in the nationwide implementation of the ALS program. This center represents the 140th facility that CLFI has assisted in establishing by providing essential information and communication technology learning tools.
The central focus of this ALS center revolves around offering a second chance at education to those individuals who have previously been on the outskirts of traditional schooling. Currently, there are 213 dedicated learners enrolled in the ALS program, many of whom were once out-of-school youth and adults seeking to return to school in order to unlock better opportunities and brighter prospects in life.
The inauguration of the ALS center was a momentous event, graced by the presence of several distinguished individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact on education. Leading the proceedings was Felix Antecristo, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division, accompanied by Hilda Renoblas, the Principal of Mariano Peralta National High School, who played a crucial role in the establishment of the ALS center.
Of course, the real stars of the occasion were the ALS learners, who showcased their unwavering determination and enthusiasm for learning, alongside the dedicated ALS educators who form the backbone of this initiative.
